Don’t bother with the Krups GVX2-12 Burr Grinder. In fact, don’t even waste your time reading the rest of this review.

We had high hopes for the Krups GVX2-12. Krups has pleased us over the years with delivering quality entry-level coffee makers and related products. The price range of just over $50 seemed like a reasonable price for a basic, non-commercial grinder, if done right.

But, the GVX2-12 misses the mark. Issues included beans getting clogged in the grinder, the unit sometimes running without even getting beans into the grinder, the fine grind settings producing very uneven grounds, and units that stopped working. We sometimes come down hard on grinders for simply being hard to clean. This unit doesn’t even meet the threshold of doing the job it’s intended to do.

So, we are not going to comment on the coffee flavor, the grind settings, or the day to day handling of the unit. Don’t even bother with this one. And be glad we went through the experience so you don’t have to.
